I have been tentatively selected for Merril Field in Anchorage. (Yes, I wanted to work up there)

Starting is $40,502

Now lets all hope I can pass the background check... I've had a lead foot for a few years, had some tickets and my credit sucks. Soooo I would say that it's a long shot... anyone have any advice?

there was this "guy" I knew who had his DL suspended for too many speeding tickets and credit so bad that I wouldnt lend him a hand. He still got hired.. so dont worry

:yup:

I just thought that part was particularly funny and I needed to point it out.

OH, and congratulations! My friend is training at anchorage center.

Thanks for the help. I now get to sit back and fill out the SF-86. Any and all help with that would be appreciated. Anyone have any tips for filling that out?

I would like to thank you for disclosing your starting salary. That’s actually pretty high considering what people are saying about the pay situation in recent years.

I have a few questions if you don’t mind me asking. Is that base salary or is it $40k with locality pay? Where you a CTI graduate? How was your experience in Oklahoma?

Thanks!

Jonny.

After a year on station, I'd really love to hear what your actual pay was for the year.

Including your time spent at OKC.

Maybe after that these inflated numbers will finally pop.

No problem, I figured everyone was asking, so I should share.
It is 36,236 base, and 40K for locality.
I am not a CTI student. I'm an ERAU alumni with a double in Aerospace Engineering and Space Physics. I hold a CFI/CFII in Airplanes and Helos, so I was told that helped.
Have not gone to OKC yet, but will post if I get that far.

Congratulations! :nana2:

How long has the hiring process been for you so far? I applied in August and am still waiting to take the At-SAT.

I applied in June for my state and took the AT-SAT in November. Apparently they are doing it state by state, and when I called the private company that does the testing...they said they did not know where the next testing areas would be until the faa sent them the notice. You can try and call the number you get for the faa, have to call it a few times to get anyone. Ask them if they know when the state you applied to is up. Probably won't get a good answer. *laughs*

I'm impressed that you got all that done around the holidays... normally there is no one around.

As for sending you the wrong paperwork... welcome to the FAA.

Good Luck !

Yeah, they were pretty good about being open. There was a 10 day limit on my paperwork which they extended for me due to the holidays.

The paperwork issue made me laugh. I have a bunch of controller friends who all got a good laugh out of it too.:nana2:
