Ready2Instruct!!!

Thanks all!! I seriously don't know if I'd have kept at it with the passion I did without two things:

1. The support of my wife; and
2. You guys!

I had zero hours and knew nothing when I logged on just under three years ago and now I have just over 280.... and know enough to know that I still don't know squat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks again!

Gouge will appear in the "Checkride" forum some time this week.

For today (Sunday), just riding out what's left of Hurricane Frances.

...I'll post the "gouge" in the next couple of days...

I've always been curious what the origin of the word "gouge" in this situation is?

I've seen it a lot and understand it's meaning, just don't know how it came to be used for this???

I guess 'cause after you're done with the interview/checkride you're either so tired or frustrated you want to gouge your eyes out?

You silly guys..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

The etymology of "Gouge", when used in this situation, goes back to the dictionary definition of Gouge, which means a digging, scooping action.

Key word : Scoop. Well, the informal definition of Scoop means an exclusive news story. So, when someone gives you the news, they give you the scoop - or, the gouge!!
