As a youngster the neighbors across the street had a 6 toed black cat named Otis, and he was mean. He probably weighed close to, if not more than, 20 lbs. I watched him drop out of a tree to attack a dog that wandered into his yard once. If he liked you he would maybe let you pet him when no one was looking. That cat was almost pure evil personified.

This is Frankie. Frankie just learned that he does not like snow.

I just TM’ed “Six Toed Otis” for a band name.

If I ever see that name on a Marquee I didn’t arrange I WILL CUT YOU!!!

I know that look....it’s the “HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT MY SLUMBER PITIFUL HOO-MAN! NOW FACE MAH WRATH!” look right before I find poops in the kitchen sink.

Actually, my cat sitter guy comes up to clean litter boxes and refill food bowls every 4 or 5 days. My other cats run to greet him but this one hides under the covers. He just decided to poke his head out when the pic was taken.

Did.... did we seriously just end up with a Cat Thread on JC?
I’ve never had a cat before and don’t know how to proceed
A company I worked for had an equipment yard with a resident calico.
We became great friends once she knew I had saved part of my Tuna lunch for her.
I named her Kii, gaining an octave and when In a hurry I’d call out and this gal would appear from nowhere.
Less stressful times I’d let her take her time to come surprise me by leaping onto my cab-such a affectionate and loving lady.
My dilemma is that company ceased operations and the yard has very little activity.
Should I leave her to her own capable devices or take her with me where she’ll have to be leashed outside?
She’s ran her own game for I guess 4 years, but unless another employee took her, should I let her stay or make her go?
I will say on the easy nights she was fondling and hard to get out of my Big Truck
I eat a lot of Tuna,..,

Could you take her home as an outside cat? You don't need a leash unless you think it's unsafe for some reason and then I wouldn't bring her back unless you can keep her inside. You could provide food for her where she is maybe. It would be best to have her fixed in any case. Maybe the local shelter could trap her or if you can just get her inside your truck she's trapped. The shelter where I volunteer does cheap spays every so often for ferals.

I have a few stories about Otis and his exploits if you're thinking of writing any songs. The neighbor also had two red Dobermans, a sister and brother named Bonnie and Clyde. They were happy, friendly dogs but they also took on the responsibility of protecting their family very seriously. If they knew you, or you were introduced to them by one of the family members they would play like puppies, if you were a stranger they would do whatever they could to encourage you to move along. Those dogs were younger than Otis and were terrified of him, funny to see two 80 lb Dobermans suddenly turn into nervous nellies when he came around. He did his part to protect the family as well, there was a time some derelict drunk ended up trying to sleep off his adventures in the corner of their front yard (they had a corner lot with a fair amount of trees). Otis either waited for him to fall asleep or found him that way and went full on jungle cat, 6 claws on each of four feet and big teeth attached to 20 lbs of feline fury was a very rude awakening for that poor guy. It woke everyone up and I think he actually tried to sue the neighbors unsuccessfully. Like I said Otis was mean, but I was at their house once watching a movie and he fell asleep purring lying on my legs. I think he not only thought he was the alpha in the house, he was the alpha in the house. RIP Otis.
