Random Photos of Moving Objects

Some randoms from the past two weeks - all taken around Tampa Bay. The last few photos were taken during early morning overcast, so very little light to work with. That's my excuse anyways.

The 3 shots of the AeroMed chopper in flight are fantastic. Maybe a touch underexposed, but the rotor blur is perfect and it's tack sharp. Looks like you're getting the hang of that DSLR.

Thanks! I had the sensitivity set to 3200, and was experimenting with different shutter speeds. Would have helped if I would have brought my tripod. The few I got I was able to capture by setting the camera on concrete wall and using that to steady it.

I'm getting there - slowly :)

You shouldn't really need 3200 any time there's even the slightest bit of daylight, even cloudy. I'd say 800 max, 1600 on a really bad day. Were you on Aperture Priority with the lowest number selected?

That being said 3200 on your camera seems to perform pretty well. I don't see a lot of noise.

I actually had it in shutter speed mode and kept adjusting to try and get the right combination of light and sharpness. In aperture priority mode it wanted to use way too high of a shutter speed for those conditions (7am and overcast).

That might be the first time I've used 3200. There are very few times when 400 works on this camera (on the beach on a sunny day is about it) - I typically use 800 for standard day time shots, and 1600 for other times.

Great shots! The only thing I would have done is slowed the shutter speed just a bit when taking pics of the herc to show some movement in the props.
