Ramping for an airline during college

I made it work through college.

I'd suggest part time and pick up as you can, there was never a shortage of people willing to give or trade off some time. Get in with the sups and you can have pretty much work whenever you need/want it. It's much easier to start with 15 or 20 hours and trade and pick up then it is to start with 40 and try and trade down. Just don't get stuck in that job, where I worked there were exactly two types of people. College students, and ex-college students now hating life 6 years into slinging bags. Pay and travel bennies are just enough to keep people hanging around.

Nice dude, thats where I am at. Let me know if they have any openings.

Oh man, you just missed the boat! They had openings in ever department. Ramp, Customer Service, and Operations! They hired a boatload to handle more flights and the new AirTran international stuff we'll be working. With 1 year of seniority, and the new hires they got, I'll have 7 below me, of a total list of 21. Not too bad for a super senior station!
