Ramen, not just for CFIs.....

So lately at work I've been working on this interesting contract where basically I have to do a weight and ballance for a 747 freighter and then supervise the loading. As I work out fuel and a couple other issues I also have a lot of interaction with the various crews. So today I come on board and there's all three crew members eating these microwave noddle deals that they get from Inchon when there down that ways.

I know, maybe not all that funny, but it made me chuckle. Not too mention the shirts that the Captain and the FO were wearing. Basically said this:

"747 Size Does Matter"
 
4 years of steady Ramen intake & still counting. When it gets to 3 meals a day I will choose another career
 
Funny..5 years of college and I've only eaten one cup of ramen noodles. I guess its because I eat a ton of spaghetti instead and the costs are comparable.

You're thinking about Cup of Noodles , which isn't to be confused with Top Ramen !!!

Same company,. different product! Nothing beats Top Ramen in price!!
 
Cup Ramen has California Vegetable. It's vegetarian which is good for me!

Plus, you don't even have to cook the small packs! Nice crunchy squares with a sprinkle of flavoring!

But the average person doesn't eat the entire box of spagetti for .59. You usually can get 3 or 4 meals out of it. Although i guess when you add the sauce it does cost in the end more than the ramen.
 
Back in 1994 when I still lived in Brazil, my parents took me to Disney. We got tired of Mcdonalds (at least my parents did), so we started coming up with new ways to eat. We were eventually making Ramen noodles by using the coffee maker.lol
It worked just fine and it tasted just like if you would have done it on the stove.

So for you airline pilots, do you guys take Ramen noodles in your baggage when you go on trips?

I am sitting in my hotel right now, and just heated up the water with the coffie maker, and read that post.

Here is another question.

I have about a month of training starting tomorrow AM and do not have a microwave, or refrigerator in the hotel room. Besides the cup of Ramen, any one have any suggestions on food to cook/eat?


I was thinking about grilled cheese on the hot part of the coffie maker, but then remembered about the lack of the fridge and the cheese wont last long.
 
another thing...World Hunger?

Some of these smaller countries cannot come up with enough funds for Ramen.... One million worth of Ramen would probably feed most of America for a few days.

10 for a dollar X 1,000,000 = 10,000,000

ok a little off, but 2 million could feed New York

Two words: styrofoam cooler. They do have an ice machine in your hotel, right?

Get ya some cheap sandwich meat and some store brand bread, and you're set.

Cup Noodles and Top Ramen are absolutely repulsive, but I better get used to it. God why did I chose this path?
