Boy oh boy!

If Republic isn't the poster child for why all the majors should protect their scope as much as possible, I don't know what is! They should make E175/E190 stickers, something with a manager in his office and a hundred EJets behind the door marked, "Do not open, sensitive material inside."

I hate this industry. I called a scab for being at a non-union carrier now I will be a scab because my CEO wishes to destroy the industry. Sorry everyone

Well, it's probably not going to last long anyway. Southwest'll snap up that market in a jiffy.

50 more seats for $3 less a hour then me. Bye bye last 9 717's. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Just curious, What is Midwest's scope clause? I take it all of this flying is legal per the contracts?

Without a solid scope section, all your contract is worth is a ream of printed on scrap paper.

Not placing blame on the Midwest pilots, but in this age of outsourcing and all that jazz, they must have seen this coming from a long ways away. That is assuming that the scope section is as loose as that chick with no panties in her yearbook picture.

One of several reasons I want nothing to do with the airline pilot game that it has become. Hate the game.

Awesome! The race to the bottom continues... I have already told myself that I will NEVER work a regional airline again, and I can pretty much rule out going to the majors, because if this crap continues with E170/190s/CR9s, etc. there won't be any major airline jobs left.

Disgusting.

I really mean this and want people to answer this honestly. I've been neutral lately on RAH and their pilot group etc. But do we not have to place some blame here on that pilot group for accepting these planes? I dont know how it works at many other regionals, but I know here at PSA we as a group said HELL no to CRJ900's back when they were trying to be forced on us. Can RAH pilots not stand together and do the same? Or are they just unwilling? I honestly want to know. I'm not part of your group and dont know the vibe about this news, thus am asking. Not trying to turn it into flame bait.

What struck work have you flown? Or sanctioned picket line have you crossed? Just b/c you happen to work for a non-union carrier doesn't equate to being a scab.

You're not personally accountable for your CEOs decisions.

When were we ever asked if we would fly them? Never, thats when.

I dont care. I'm saving all my sick calls and getting FMLA so whenever they try and award me a 190 trip, I'm going to call in sick. Ill stay at home and fly my couch for 3 days.....Try and get cheap labor out me me, they can pound sand.

And finally. . .the only one that matters. . .

Wonderful rates there. . .oh yeah. . .especially for taking out a national carrier. You guys do have negotiations coming up right? I sure hope you guys hit the ball somewhere close to what Midwest's rates were.

Cheap labor is what Midwest management wanted, and RAH leadership was more than happy to do it - and bring the aircraft.

Re: 100 seat RJs finally here

If it becomes the new career for 121 pilots - fine - but damn it, get the pay and work rules up to the level of past "career" destinations.

Sadly not enough people have realized that their term at a regional very well might be a long one, or at least longer than they had originally expected. 5 years and up and out is fiction. Always has been.

A number of companies will be in section 6 negotiations within two years, all of whom will be demanding pay and work rules on the level of "career" companies respective of the equipment and route structure they fly. I just hope that if any other company decides to take out a national airline, they are able to get their pay and work rules to match their new found route structure.

Wow... I dont get it... Just dont. Were you all not asked because back in the day the old union had already negotiated the ability to fly these types of planes? I didnt realize you guys would not be asked to. But guess since the old union already had put it out there, you may not have the opportunity. :( Just wow... Hows the Republic Forum responding to this news?
