We're talking about a few seconds of freq time. Does ATC give the folks who ask a hard time?
Only in Hawaii apparently. Lol!

You miss ground speed mini.Well then that settles it! Glad you all are superior to me!
I will continue, on rare occasion, ask for a wind check, just to double check what's going on and make corrections.
You miss ground speed mini.
It ties up the frequency with worthless garbage. Might not matter in SBN, but it certainly does in places like ATL, DCA, LGA, etc.
I have more time than you in LGA (and probably DCA) and I vehemently disagree with your statement.
Try again.
Every time I hear a legitimate transmission on guard, 16 different people will trip over themselves to tell said transmitter they are 'on guard.' The whole frequency has become a parody of itself.
Transmission enroute one day when I was flying and my CA had the radios:
ATC on Guard: "Podunk Tower on guard radio check?"
CA: "5/5"
Another plane: softly "On guard.."
ATC: "And this transmitter?"
CA: "5/5"
AP: a little louder "On guard..."
ATC: "Aaannndd this transmitter?"
CA: "5/5"
AP: shouting "YOUR ON GUARD!"
CA: "I know I'm on guard you idiot!"
This crap has gotten out of hand...and to this day I've never actually flown with a guard nazi. Wish I knew who they were.

@ATN_Pilot why wouldn't you monitor guard anyway?
I've heard more than once that the "guard nazis" are controllers messing with us. For whatever reason, the guys on the east coast like to say it's DL guys. I've seen only one pilot say "en guarde" my entire time here... I always envision regional guys arguing back and forth calling each other DL pilots... but the controllers can hear and xmit on guard too.
Who else listens to ATL radio on here? (that doesn't work for RAH)
I thinks it a CHQ thing. Used to be manditory, but those who were raised at CHQ still listen to ATL radio.
At S5 we still know that the ADF works. Especially on Sundays, or Saturdays near bowl season.
That's 'cause y'all haven't learned how "[they] do things at this airline."Hasn't been a single AirTran pilot involved in any of their "incidents."
With the WANT style briefing they want us to do, I use Southwest as my threat if I can't think of anything besides the unexpected threat. "And the biggest threat is the possibility of Southwest hauling ass around the corner and not seeing us on the taxi. Questions?"That's 'cause y'all haven't learned how "[they] do things at this airline."
("Let me show you how we do things at this airline" are the actual most dangerous words in aviation, in terms of their possible adverse consequences...)
