RAH Q400 in BTV

What day and time? I know someone intimately who overnighted Thursday in BTV.
Delayed first departure (Friday) for some stupid maint issue.

Word on the street is an almost CFIT incident. That's about third person knowledge so take it with a pound of salt.

@Nark think it was either the last flight in or a flight that was landing while it was dark outside. Visual approach to the runway headed northwest.

She was working the afternoon flight.
She would have said something otherwise.
The next morning there was a battery charge issue on her first flight. Idled for a while before departing. No idea why. The only stupid Canadain bird has a Q in the name.

It's worth pointing out that this flight has often been covered in E145s die to staffing as well. Are we sure it was a Q?

I think I read that they just got a memo saying no more night visuals into there.... Like yesterday.

Just think soon we'll only be able to get vectored on final by ATC and it will have to be a completely automated flown approach including the landing. No visuals, no hand flown ILS approaches (already gone at my place), no hand flown landings. We'll be lucky to even be allowed to taxi the plane.

Seriously, no hand flown ILS's at your shop?

My company encourages the use of automation but you're free to do whatever you want (within reason, of course), including *gasp* turning the flight director off.

Anything remotely close to IMC it must be a coupled approach. Once you go visual you can click it off per FOM.

It was in response (knee jerk) to the Providence, RI accident.
