RAH desperate for Pilots

CHQ is taking 20 of the 29 145s in the USAirways system and moving them to CAL EX operation. They are being replaced by E175s.

What are the chances of getting an IND base out of training? Not that I'm ready but I'm an INDY boy and republic would be the first choice def and thought I'd ask. Very curious about how things are looking for the future and how IND would be looking these days as a base?

Chances are good youd have it soon after. Its a 170 adn 145 base so that helps alot.

Dang who ISN'T offering money for referrals? MAG is doing the same thing, though I don't know of any current MAG pilots who would partake. Something about friends don't let friends fly for Mesa...

I wonder how the general population would feel about flying to learn that so many airlines are offering cash bonuses to hire pilots.

Is that going to affect the EMB-145 bases though? I can't imagine they will bring 175's into Richmond. Good for you guys though!!!

Are you feeling alright, Kingairer? I completely understood everything you said in this thread!

Not even one "Arro?!".

I have an interview on the 16th for Republic. Not sure if I should feel excited or nervous right now. This being my first airline interview and all. But looking forward to it all the same.

As of today, there is a $2500 signing bonus upon completion of IOE if you are a current E145 or CRJ pilot. Good luck everyone.....

What are the bases for Shuttle America? If you're a E170 FO, do you upgrade in the E170? Or drop to E135 and work your way up? Do they hire CFI's directly to the E170? Or is the rumor true that most CFI's go to E135/E140?

People can get hired into the 170 if the need is there and they have the appropriate amout of time, I think one needs a minimum of 1500 hours. Upgrades go by seniority. The 170 is senior so most 170 FO's will upgrade into the ERJ or CRJ. S5 also uses 2 year seat locks to keep training costs to a minimum. The seat lock is waived for upgrades.

If you are a CFI you probably will end up in the 135

Thanks Badit...

Do they have 135/145's out of DCA? Looking at flight aware, it seems like mostly 170's. Is DCA a senior base? DC is my hometown, and I'm trying to stay here, but it doesn't seem like I have many options.
