RAH 100 seat airplanes

I think we are doing the sand thing...
Anyways, I didnt get the time off. It happens every year where im on vacation the weeks before and always have to work the week of.

Sorry to hear this stuff is frustrating... I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine over at Spirit and their recent contract negotiations...

Personally, I would love to see the pilots say something like "okay? if your not going to pay us as professionals? then were not going to dress as professionals..." at which point all the pilots should show up in t-shirts and shorts and flip flops... presuming there is no regulation against this in the 121 world

Well, the FOM and the contract would provide for certain uniform specifics.

The reality is, there is no unity in the 121 world. A couple guys would do it, get canned, union would try to bring them back. Meanwhile the guys junior to them would laugh because their numbers just went up and they were one step closer to moving out from their moms. The guys senior to them would say, "see, told ya, the company always wins".

Long past, are the days of yore when pilots worked as a family, and refused to fly broke equipment and looked out for each other. The best you can hope for now is a small group of friends who won't sell you out, and will let you ride on their coattails. Best thing you can do, is let a few trusted people ride on your coattails too.

That would be a direct violation of most company's uniform policy. It's much easier to follow SOP to the letter. If enough people do that, it's more effective.

Fair enough. But thats my point, you can't really fire everyone...:)
Look up American Airlines sick out from a decade or so ago. APA was fined huge amounts due to the courts saying the union was behind it. I think the company could come back and bite you, and your union if you are a union shop, on the same thing, if everybody showed up sans uniform.

Sometimes you gotta take risks in life. You don't always get ahead by following the rules, tolerances, friendliness, professionalism and respect is a two way street you know? And once you start messing with someones money that they worked hard for and are entitled too... a line has been crossed.

EDIT: I don't think the company could do much to the Union in the uniform case also because to get compensation it would have to prove damages from the Unions' actions, or lack of action. So if the pilots all still did their jobs showed up on-time and still flew the legs and the company made its money? what could they argue?

But hey I'm just throwing out ideas, my goal wasn't to instigate anything.:)
Understood and agree...but trying to get all the pilots to take the stand is the problem, as has been proven time and again!

BTW, I did my part...never even applied to a regional.
