In the past month I have flown with two military pilots. (Navy). Both fighter pilots, one active duty and the other recently retired.

I've noticed that they never read back instructions from ATC. Whether it is cleared to land runway 6 or taxi 24 via D, they always try and respond with just "Roger N12345".

Is that standard for Naval Aviators?

Not to read back which runway to land or taxi via a certain direction? We teach the basics to all Navy pilots which includes reading back all such instrutions as to landing runway or taxi direction or whatever. Once more experienced, some folks get lazy, complacent, set in their ways or a combination of them all.
