RAA

Whats up guys,
hope you dont mind a Skymates instructor chiming in on the subject. I have been instructing for over a year now and still learning new things every day. I think its the best training that you dont have to pay for. Your not going to get rich by any means but you have plenty of time to make your money in the future. I have had a great flight experience and made life long freinds. I hope thirty years from now ill still be talking about the good old days of flight instructing, Im sure I will be.

IS THIS GUY EVER GOING TO TURN BASE?

Who on this site has flown with an RAA guy?

I have. With more than one. Both were decent pilots. Both had a CRJ type rating. And the funny thing is, after I was done checking them out they asked if I wanted to split some multi time. Why would you need more multi time if you have a "guaranteed" interview with a 97% success rate? Sounds fishy to me.

I spent about 30 grand to go from scratch-MEI. I just landed a gig at a flight school that pays us 30 bucks an hour, so the loans I took out aren't too hard to pay back.

thanks for posting that, I was going to cut & paste from that forum

So umm, what happens when the "direct track" doesn't work out for you?? I promise you it doesn't work for everyone, there is still a lot of guys that don't get picked up (don't believe everything those places tell you), you still have to pass the interview where you will be competing with people that have a LOT more experiance than you. Now when it doesn't work out and you don't get hired right off, with less than 500 hrs you are now 80-90K in debt an SOL! You have no CFI ratings to fall back on, and your chances of getting ANY other flying job with that little time is nearly impossible!

I sure wasn't willing to take a risk like that just for a guaranteed "interview"
