So I attended an ABBI accredited University and graduated with a B.S. and my commercial ticket. I am now a CFI in th Seattle area building time when the weather allows it 
So at this university I was enrolled in the aviation program and took more than the 60 credit hours of "accredited" classes needed under 61.160. Now, I came into school with my private and a good amount of XC time under part 61. I started my instrument under their 141 program but finished part 61 when I found out that the XC time would not fully count (saved myself about 10 grand switching).
Also my fancy degree was not the exact same as the degree in the "program" because I was not 141. Same classes for the most part, different name. I love the bureaucracy in this.
So the reg reads that you must have the accredited degree, 60 hours in the degree, instrument and commercial rating completed 141 in the program, and documentation from the university saying that you have accomplished all the requirements etc.
So in my mind I will be watching my classmates live the dream in a RJ making 22 bucks an hour at 1000 hours and I will still have 500 more to go (or I head to a 135, but I believe that belongs in a different thread).
