I know this is off-topic, but a buddy of mine just got hired at Republic and offered me a job there. Is Republic really going under or what?

LMAO - Jtrain hasn't posted any evidence of this. Republic (and all of the carriers associated) is still buying aircraft, still hiring, and upgrading at just over a year.

I don't see the doors being chained just yet.

Naw, it was really more a quip about how every regional sucks and none of them are ever stable

EDIT: And this is why I love internet message forums. I put that EVERY company on that list (which I swear had every company except my own) is gonna go under, but somebody picks out republic and is like "OH CRAP!!! REALLY!?!?!?! REPUBLIC IS GOING UNDER!!! I'M A STUDENT PILOT WITH 15 HOURS AND IF THEY GO UNDER NOW I DON'T KNOW WHERE I'M GOING TO WORK!!!!!"

Delta gives preferential interviews to ASA and Comair... it's in the Delta contract (why we negotiated that is beyond me but I'll save that for another thread)

Comair guys are getting the interviews, but not many are being hired. Something tells me if you were around when DL guys/gals were getting furloughed and that whole fiasco went down, it is not going to be pretty for you during interview time.
