questions about jumpseating.....

I sat jump on the 777 a few weeks ago from HNL-SFO. full on seats with a center armrest and cupholders. I would take that oer a middle seat in coach any day!

The MD 80 must be about the worst, jumpseat out of ORD and the back is the cockpit door w/ an old ironing board cover ...Very good for the posture though :)

Yea the 145 is the worst ever. I always say it's as if Embraer designed the thing, built it and placed the flightdeck bulkhead where they wanted (extremely close to the throttle/radio stack) and then said "$&@t! We forgot the Jumpseat! Throw it in there anyway. Jumpseaters don't need legroom"

While I do love the 757 (hence the name) I will agree, the jumpseat sucks pretty bad. Don't have a problem with any other ones, except the EMB-145. Even the CRJ-200 is more comfortable. Never had to sit up front in a prop, but from what I hear, its pretty bad.

complete with your very own footrest too! Must be an MD thing because the 10s and 11s have them too.

Not sure how much more "advanced" the 88 is over the original 80 but one of my favorite jumpseat rides was on the former. Not comfortable ,but I like the old-horse feel of it. Lots of bells and whistles. It forces them to do a little extra work before leaning back and talking about the boats they just bought with their new big-shot paychecks they get flying mainline.
