Question for the Pinnacle guys

Hey-

Is dispatch still producing the note on your flight plans about PA's using "Delta Flight" rather than identifying yourselves as "Delta Connection" or "Pinnacle Airlines"?

Nope. You guys killed that one within a week. We can still say "Delta Connection," but they don't want us saying "Pinnacle." I just say Delta Connection myself. Then again, I straight up went against company policy and said Delta Connection when the FIF was out to say "Delta."

Kell- Was the original directive about saying "Delta Flight...." initiated by PCL or by DL?

They never said. We just got a note at the bottom of the release that said we weren't supposed to mention "Pinnacle" or "Delta Connection," just "Delta flight 1234." About a week after it got out, a new one came out saying we could say "Delta Connection," but to refrain from mentioning "Pinnacle Airlines."

Thanks, brotha!

Next time I catch a Bull Snake in the back yard, I'll save it in a bucket and have you pick it up! ;)

You can infer something, however, by the lack of any similar memos at any other DCI carrier.

It's a shame management doesn't even want the passengers to know who's really flying them. Do they think it's so bad to be proud to say the company's real name?

Like what? Beyond the typical ineptitude and cheesiness that Pinnacle Inc. spews in an attempt to be more than they really are.

That's so accurate, it's scary. Can't wait to read the newest memo in ops thanking us for all that we do and swearing that the "crunch" we're gonna feel next month with JMs and extensions is all due to "unplanned absences" and the airline is "properly staffed."

I saw a few "Simply The Best" crew tags on luggage when I was in the Radisson in Tulsa last week... that would be too cheesy for me to even put on my luggage.

Yeah, generally when I say we're "Simply the Best," it's sarcastic. Wait. I'm sarcastic pretty much 80-90% of the time.

DSM wasn't too bad. Captain delayed boarding until he I got to the airplane. He wanted to make sure I actually made it to the gate and had not gotten trapped somewhere due to weather.

Hotel there is fairly nice as well. I was in a room that had two TVs, one that was a large flat screen :). Too bad we had less than 9 hours there.

He's probably like me. Been told "The FO is on the ground and on the way" too many times by scheduling, only to board the plane and have the pax sitting there for 45 minutes on a cramped RJ because the DH was late and scheduling had no clue.

Can you guys not see where they are coming from and if the flight is in yet?

I am all for not boarding the aircraft until the entire crew is there. Just think about a nearly full -200 sitting there for over a half hour, only to have the last remaining crew member available call in fatigued...

Somebody is going to have some serious explaining to do.

Can you guys not see where they are coming from and if the flight is in yet?

They probably can but in a situation like yesterday, all it takes is a small hiccup and the whole thing is shot. Scheduled to be in from CLE at :45 after the hour and leave for DSM at :55 past the hour. Craziness! The original in and out times for the two flights were actually only 5 minutes apart and they delayed DSM by a whopping 5 minutes :banghead:

Ended up not getting back from CLE until the DSM flight was rescheduled to leave. Add to that packing bags, post flight, checking schedule, stop at the restroom, walk halfway around the world through the airport. Yeah, I'm gonna get there late. Thing is... the Captain told me he did not expect me for at least another 15 minutes! (He figured I would stop to get some food) Next time I will! :D

What I mean is can you guys see all the inbound flight info(OOOI). When I am waiting for a CA I tell the FA to wait for their flight to be IN if the gate is a good bit away and ON if they are parking close by.

Exactly like a sitation the other day I had in MEM except the CSA was willing to sacrifice customer service to avoid getting in trouble for a delay.

Here's the story: Short turn between out and backs and had to go from B19 to A21. Wasn't hungry, made a quick pit-stop, and made the LONG walk to A21, and check in with the CSA right about 30 prior. Conversation went something like this:

CSA: Hi there! Here's your paperwork. F/A's already down at the plane-She'll be ready to board 2 min after you get down there.

Me: Great...Is the CA down there as well?

CSA: No...he hasn't checked in yet.

Me: Oh...Well, if he hasn't checked in yet, lets hold up on boarding until he does check in.

CSA: (worried look on his face) Uhh....we can't do that....

Me: Uhhh...Yes, we can. We don't know how long the CA is going to be. It could be 2 min from now or 2 hours from now, and I'd rather have passengers sitting up here waiting on him rather than being cramped on the plane. Lets give if it a minute or two and if he's still not here I'll call crew scheduling.

CSA: Uhhhh...ok....Are you willing to take the delay?

Me: Absolutely

CSA: (suprised look on his face) Oh okay....

Turns out that the CA walks up within the next minute or two, and the flight goes out on time. But it still makes me p*#&ed that our CUSTOMER SERVICE agents refused to use some common sense....
