Question for Netjets/XO/Frac guys.

When a plane has a complete crew swap, what is the procedure for passing on information, like any MX that is coming up on it, stock that needs replenished, cleaning supplies, etc? Do you guys go through an ops line and tell them things or just "let the next crew find out".

Where I'm at, we have a form that has us state the condition of pretty much everything that should be on board. Consumables, EFBs, safety equipment, documents, cabin items, food/beverage stock. It also summarizes upcoming maintenance items.

Flexjet has an App on the company iPhones for scheduling everything include status of MX/pax notes/catering (no need to talk to dispatch)

for a/c stock we have several stations through the US to keep the stock current and full....no need to keep track of it, it's done before and after every trip as a pre and post flight....

Where I am, there are logbooks in each airplane pertaining to conditions, info only, NEF items, and the previous MX write ups and any items that are MEL'd... When the new crew assumes the aircraft, scan the paperwork for any immediate MX items and or call MX control to clarify anything. As well as an app that tracks the fleet. We clean the plane's interior after each leg, and replenish the stock on board from stored stock in the cabin. Then the stored stock is replenished when necessary either from the local store or when we stop at our frequent FBOs, a select few of them have stock lockers with the snacks/ water/ booze. The trip schedule is so fluid that you may lose your airplane while you're sleeping at the overnight, "I'll clean it in the morning" doesn't work real well.

At Netjets our logbooks and all pertinent info is electronic. Typically, it is standard practice to restock the plane before you leave it, and we carry extra stock in the baggage compartment. If for some reason you have depleted a high use item (like bottled water), and we haven't hit a stock locker and cant restock, we can add it to our catering order. In a few cases we have left sticky notes on the yoke for the next crew, like if we pull stock or flush the lav for cold weather ops. As far as deferrals and mx related stuff, that is all electronic.

I work for a small fractional and we have a airplane book that we go through first flight of the trip with previous write ups and next mx due, hobbs and cycles. As for stock, we have bases throughout the midwest and pick whatever is needed there. If the airplane is out of base and has a crew swap then we send mass emails to let whoever picks up the plane from there what to bring. Could be much more efficient.

Thanks for the replies. Im working on establishing a system where the most pertinent things being MX, Issues, etc are completed or at least knowledge is passed along to the next crew. Enforcing such is the hard part. I like the idea of the app. There should be something out there for this...

At my former company, the thing that wasn't electronic was MEL's and Maintenance write ups.

They also never left an aircraft unstocked as a common courtesy. We usually went out and bought stock that was needed. TEB and the company headquarter were the only places that had stock. Of course we saw TEB all of the time. So it usually wasn't an issue, but wasn't unusual to go out and buy stock though.

It's just a duty that is expected to be done, no different from cleaning the cabin after a flight. Enforcement isn't really a challenge.

Well.... it is.

Are there any apps or anything that people use to make a checklist goes online so that a new crew can log on and see whats been done or what needs to be done?

We aren't app users like some of the responders above. You can take a picture of the form and either send it to dispatch or to the incoming crew if there is one.

I was hoping someone had something where you click on your tail, and it is either green for everything signed off, or red for not completed, and when you go into each tail, it shows the Current PIC/SIC, and then items that should be checked off. and then next to it the Crew member or something like that so the incoming crew can see that everything is good to go.
Im just spitballing ideas. What I don't want is this to be a burden or something someone sees as a waste of time. Im basically trying to get a simple system in place for exiting and incoming crews to easily see whats going on.

Just make a stock checklist saying that these are the standard stock items needs to be on the plane.

Making a notation that says *as a common courtesy, crewmembers that the aircraft is fully stocked and cleanEd for the next crew.

You're on an EJM plane now right? Do you guys get Waypoint on your company phones?

Nope. Not on an EJM plane. My gig doesn't give us company phones. They give us 40 bucks a month for cell phone usage.
