Question for fighter/bomber guys

Just open the door in the hallway that says "Men" or "Women" on it, depending on which sex you are. Why?

I know, am just making a Monday bearable here......

Fighters/tactical aircraft have pee bags for #1. Pee into it and it turns into gel afterwards and seal it. After landing, toss it in the trash. For #2, you're kinda screwed.......but its been done.

Transport aircraft (IIRC) have onboard facilities just like airliners.

Helos, land and do what you need to.

I still have not figured out a good way to use one, though the only times I've ever thought about it were cross country transit hops which really weren't long enough to preclude holding it. Do you guys safe up the seat and unstrap or what? Or can it work while sitting?

I safe up and loosen the waist straps, that usually gives you enough room to move around. I have friends who have gotten completely out of the harness to take a deuce in their helmet bag, but I have not done that myself.

Any number of ways. Though it's different with the USAF harness vs the USN harness. The USN harness you have to "put on" like a pair of pants, whereas the USAF harness you put on like a vest and clip the bottom legstraps separately. So it may be a little more difficult for the USN harnesses. But yes, safing the seat is a good idea (you're straight and level anyway) and detaching the leg straps (USAF) or loosening them? (USN.....that is, if you can) makes it easy. Then loosening the lap belt too.

In the -47 the flight engineer would attach a funnel to surgical tubing and run it out the right aft landing gear.

Not sure what to do in the -60... the damn seat doesn't slide back far enough for me to use a Gatorade bottle so I guess I'll just hold it.

There's nothing complicated about it. Ya just have to give ol' willie a pull up and out of the bottom of the flight suit zipper.

No seat safe or unstrap required.
