Question for Colgan EWR pilots

Why is the Colgan website advertising an opening for a Regional Chief Pilot in EWR? What happened to BM?

What if I said I emailed ole Chuck Colgan with a resume for this position....

(you decide if I'm joking or not...;))

Go for it! I'm certain you'd be an improvement over the current situation. After all, at least you have some time in the plane. Also, do you have the intestinal fortitude to actually represent your pilots fairly? That would be an improvement as well.

I was lucky enough to become friends with our Chief Pilot in the Seattle base when I was at Horizon. He was fantasic...if you wanted/needed a day off, he would make to where you could get it off...and if he told you that he couldn't, you knew he looked at all options. He was also one that trusted the pilot's in his base and didn't go out of his way to cause a ruckus.

One of the issues we had at Horizon was the Asst Chief Pilot's forgot that they were once line pilot's as well. Either that, or my personal guess is that they had to become brainwashed by management.

Either way, if I were ever to become the Asst or Chief Pilot for an airline...I would work equally hard for both parties. Meaning, I wouldn't let management screw over the pilots...but also I wouldn't the pilot's do the same to the company. It's give and take in this work...you've got to treat each other with respect.
