Question for Approach Controllers

I have a question that I've been wondering about for a while regarding calling in to Approach Control during arrivals.

During arrival into an airport, I've been handed off to approach from center, I've got my current ATIS information, which approach controller wants to hear that we've got the ATIS at our destination airport? Is it the first guy I check in with?, last app. controller before the handoff to tower?, or someone in the middle? It seems whenever I give it to the first guy, he doesn't really care and another controller down the line will ask if we have it. Or if I plan on giving it to the app. controller just before the airport and don't volunteer it on initial check in with the first controller, he will ask for it.
I don't know, maybe the answer is - it depends on the facility. But I was just wondering if there is any standard on when you approach guys typically want to hear that we've got the current ATIS. Thanks!

Check what the departure frequency or approach frequency is at the airport you are flying to. that is the controller that wants to know you have the current atis. so in other words its the last controller before you get passed to tower

Generally it should be the first approach controller you talk to. However, never hurts to just always call up NXXXXX at 5,000 with Bravo. I'd personally rather have a plane call up with it whether I needed it or not rather than have to ask them.

First approach controller. It is he who records this information on your flight progress strip.

Thanks guys I'll do that from now on. Hey ATLTRACON, do you guys ever give tours or allow visitors at the tracon or center facilities? I'm based out of PDK and have always wanted to see everything from your point of view. You guys do an awesome job down there!

What do you fly out of PDK? I can check about the tours (y'all might be terrorists:crazy:) and get back to you. I may be worthwhile if a group of JCer's from the area got together and I can give one big happy "FAA maddening" tour.:panic:

I fly the PC-12 for Alpha Flying (all the NXXXAF aircraft). That would be awesome if we could do that. I would really appreciate it. I bet I could get a bunch of our PDK based guys that would be interested too depending on how many people you can take. Let me know if you want me to contact other Alpha guys or not.

Go ahead and ask around. Probably no more than 7-10 to keep it fairly organized.
