Boring? Well, not really. It does get repetitive, when you fly a route and know what frequency will be next and when you should switch over ("why haven't we switched to approach yet?").

This is why I chose to crop dust. The work is NEVER the same from day to day and it is a multi-disciplined profession, i.e. aviation, agriculture, etc. Keeps it fresh every flight, but yeah, it still gets tiring sometimes.

I do love flying, but this is also work now.

You ever heard the old saying "the best way to f*** up a hobby is to get paid for it"?

You don't have to be so graphic about it.

Here's a G rated version: "Never make your vacation your vocation!"

I like this one better:

"The secret to life is to make your hobby your job, and to marry your best friend."

It may be work now, but it still beats working.

Speaking from the corporate side, sure it gets "routine" from time to time ... but routine is a good thing ... like Jim said, boring means things are going well.

Flying is always fun, but it is still a job and has its good moments and bad like any other job. Still, I always tell people that one of the reasons I'm a pilot is because "otherwise I'd have to work for a living!"
