Question for a Citation driver

I assume they are to align your vision with the standby compass.

If you look past the red balls you will see a larger white ball. When properly seated the red ball lines up on the white one, this assures you the proper sight picture as designed by the engineers at Cessna.

Now question for you ... am I BS you or not?

The MD-11 has a similar set up.

same thing in the crj i believe. To align your sight and make sure you are seated properly

Yeah, 793AA... Of the 3 airplanes I have ever flown, the citation was the easiest to land smoothly.

We have it in the ERJ. It is especially important when doing CAT II approaches according to our training department.
