Does HSV-1 disqualify one from attaining and maintaining a Class 1 Medical(FAA and JAA)?

Does the FAA test for this and do airlines discriminate candidates with such a condition?

How is one to comfortably have an airline pilot career and what is the FAA's tolerance and method of treatment?

It is not DQ. The FAA allows antiviral drugs such as acyclovir for the supression of the HSV.

Do airlines or FAA(Class 1) require blood tests, even if it is for blood sugar or cholesterol?

Not in the US. They do a urine test for sugar and protein looking for kidney disease and diabetes.
