Question about Residence Hall

Actually there are fees for using a check
Judging by what I have heard about ND residents and checks, I think this picture applies quite well:D

:whatever: wow

I apologize, that was a pretty blanket statement. However, many nights of trying to study and not being able to do so have left a bad impression on me of that dorm. Pretty much everyone on first floor at least(where I lived) was an idiot.

Why don't you consider moving into a house or apartment? Screw the dorms. I am so happy I never lived in one.

i agree with jace. get a house close to campus, they are a blast when spring rolls around. you can still get a meal plan at the dining center if you live off campus. make them cook for you. I did. its not just a dining center, its a grocery store. bring your tupperware, it'll come in handy.:D

Live in the dorms for at least a semester just so you can experience it and say you hate it afterwards. I hated the dorms but I'm really glad I got to experience it. I hated the dorms 'cause they were tiny, but I enjoyed the company of other people. Now that I'm living in my own apartment, it's heaven when I get back from work. :)

LMAO! I know people that did that at SIU, but I would never do that here. Terrible food. The muffins and banana bread in Wilkerson were pretty good, though. I'll give credit there.

THISSSSS!!!

I'll be transferring to UND in the Fall, and plan to stay in the dorms for at least the first semester as I'm moving from California and will not know anyone out there. My question is this, because I am a transfer student, I have the option of also living in Dakota and Selke halls. Would you all recommend these halls over the ones that have already been listed? And if so, which one?

You might have a hard time getting into Dakota hall as it is closing after this year (nevertheless, leave it to UND housing to assign someone to a closed hall). I do not really see any advantage to being in an upperclass dorm other than the air conditioning (you might actually want it in the summer and early fall), there are quite a few juniors and some seniors in all of the other dorms. If you are afraid of immature people, I would have to say that you are not going to get away from them in any dorm, no matter the age restrictions.

West Hall (4th Floor) - 1999/2001, was an absolute blast! I don't think anyone on campus was closer or had more fun than anyone on that floor. I'd definately suggest the dorms over an apartment, you won't regret it.

West seems to be full of idiots that will never graduate from college also. That was my perception of the place going from mcvey to west.

I'd say the walsh complex is nicer than the wilkerson complex in general. Not going outside to get a meal in the wilkerson complex is very nice though.

Then your like holy F#%& those guys are Aviation students. I think half of West is Aviation and the rest don't have a clue. It's probably true that a good deal of those guys are not going to graduate from UND at least. I remember a lot of guys in West that would drop aviation after freshman year and transfer.

Once again, screw the dorms.

If you go the dorm route you'll get really fat and look like every other North Dakotan shoving wood through the wood chipper.
