Question about GI Bill & reserve tuition assistance?

Im trying to find out if I can use my GI Bill from active duty, and my reserve tuition assistance at the same time (Im in the reserves now). Ive been looking everywhere for an answer but I can't find anything. I know that I can't use my Reserve GI Bill and my active duty GI Bill together, but I can't find anything that says I can't use the tuiton assistance with it. Anyone know?

Sorry this answer is so late. You cannot double dip from TA and the GI Bill at the same time. Also be aware that you do not get the full potential out of your GI Bill ifyou use it while active. I get 1135 a month. Assuming you added the kicker to your Gi Bill, on active you'll only get around 800 or 900 bones. Then again I was active and got out. It could differ for the reserves, but I don't see Uncle Sam allowing you to duoble dip.

Do you have any idea where I can find out for sure, in writing? In my experience with the military I don't like to take peoples word on things (not you guys, I mean education office) The way I see it ( i may be wrong) is that the GI Bill is for my active service, and is owed to me, and my reserve tuition is for my service in the reseves, which is also owed to me. But then again like you said, Uncle Sam gets his way!!! But Id like to find something in writing, thanks for the help!!

Call your local VA office (wherever that may be). After you get the word from them, ask them for their source and get a copy of that.

After that's done, call the adjacent VA offices to the north and the south. Get the same info and compare it. The VA is a govenment agency and as such is as reliable and trustworthy as a mesh condom.
