putting ice protection on a 210?

Is your boss really that sold on the 210? Why not talk him into a 340 or something of the like. A real cabin, pressurization, boots and more speed. Oh and an extra engine for that day when one of those TIO-540's decides to crap the bed.

yes he is, and we are talking an upgrade to a P210, the one we are looking at is not ice certified. He is looking at getting it for a practically criminal price.

When I got my private, the airport I flew out of had a P210 with the Allison turboprop on the nose. That was a sweet ride, and they said the Allison had to be WAY derated for the airplane, so that'll rock the TBO

the silver eagle,

the conversion is $750K if I remember rightly

there is one at the field, it sounds sexy on takeoff

Yeah. You can either have a strung out piston at altitude, or a loafing turbine.

I wonder if a converted one could be had for a lower price...

not that I have seen

If I find one for a decent price though....the boss will be conned, cajoled, deceived, blackmailed, whatever, into getting it.

there are a few on controller.com asking $600K.......hmm

i don't think the silver eagle can be legal known ice with the tip tanks they extend to much for the boots or tks. go with tks not the boots the folks over the hill at redtail fly the 210 with tks and swear by it. get the late model p with tks imo also the insurance in the silver eagle may be to much only one writer i think

we looked at ice protection for our 210 but it wasn't previously plumbed for boots that left only the tks option for us we priced it around $25 with out cert and $35 with cert the only difference i think is the paper saying it was cert know and a sec pump?

i miss flying the 210

Homeslice, let me know if the deal falls apart or you sell yours. You know Im still in the market. They rejected my offer on the last one and someone slipped in and got it before me.

I forgot to tell you, the dude I know owns 3 of the big hangars at Spanish Fork. Wish I would have known that before I wasted my time and yours.

Meh, I got paid for that time from my boss, and you bought me lunch, so time not wasted. I will let you know what shakes out.

Does the guy you know want to sell any or all of those hangars? There is one for sale now but the guy wants almost half a million and is apparently not willing to come down, or horse trade.

What is TKS?
A micro perforated leading edge that bleeds an anti freeze solution
