Pubnat 7??

Quick question...I've been periodically checking the FAA ASAP website and there are openings to apply for ATC Specialist, but no "Trainee." Now, I'm probably still confused, but I believe I read somewhere that I have to apply for an "ATC Trainee" position since I don't have any prior ATC experience.

Is this correct? Please help....haha.

Thanks.
-Brian

P.S. And if this is correct, then does anyone know when the PUBNAT 7 will be out? Or since it's so close to the end of the year, will they just wait until January and start back at 1? Thanks again.

just look for an announcement that says AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT7-XXXXX..... it has to have the 'PUBNAT' for you to be able to apply, unless your a CTI grad........you can also post in one of MANY pubnat7 threads...

Bippoptl you're a cruel cruel person...

From what I understand.. Bsmiller05.. we're finished with the 2008 apps. I'd say keep your head down, nose clean and await the beginning of fiscal-year 2009 for aps to start up again. If you want to get more info.. that is.. if OKC wants to share any info, your best bet would be to give them a call at 405-954-4657

in light of recent events, I would say that at worst there has been a temporary seizure of unplanned or un-committed financially dependent operations like new hiring and application acceptance while the FAA awaits new fiscal planning.. not only with the recession and the new year approaching, but also with the new white house administration coming to fruition over the next several months.

best scenario would be that they only planned 6 aps for this year and it'll all start over again without a hitch with the Febots like it did this year.

bottom line is we're running out of controllers and there are seats that NEED to be filled.. period. You can almost bet that our opportunities have been earmarked in advance (thanks probably due to all of the FED intervention that took place when the stock market first took a dive) and we're safe as long as we can be square pegs for the square holes that keep popping up everywhere as the baby boomers are settling into their golden years.

chin up chap! keep checking back around the 17th of each month.. that seemed to be the timing (give or take a few days) for the majority of PubNat's this year.

Raydon, you know that Fiscal Year '09 started October 1st right? So, guru of the atc hiring process, when should he expect the next announcement?

don't listen to him Raydon- I still think you're the JetCareer love Guru...

LOL. I hate you.....you suck for not gettin into the pepc. CALL UP FOR YOUR INTERVIEW!!!! You should have had it already. Don't get lazy cause the FAA is crazy and they may take forever to call.

uhm.. well if you're seriously going to make me re-answer and point out everything I just posted up there..

Say they're waiting for the 2nd to 3rd quarter of Fy 09.... with everything else in consideration as well.

it's sad that you made me say what I just said..

honestly... and now I'm grumpy.

Well...I don't guess that's *too* far off to wait.

Thanks Raydon for the insight. As for now, I guess I'll just keep pluggin away at Chick-Fil-A (yes, an out-of-work, or should I say can't-find-work commercial pilot is flippin' chickens). I guess it could be worse...I could be working at McDonalds. :laff:

you thought about ag? if I had the money and connections to get into dusting I'd have been there right out of highschool. Brisbane has a great (and affordable if you're already commercial) school..for it. i've been keeping in touch with that old fart Billy Howell for a couple of years.. just watching his prices and begging for cosigners.

just google "ag-flight"

Uh... I LOVE chick-fil-a! I so wish they had those in the NW. I think I overdosed last time I was in San Antonio.

We finally got Popeyes and Church's chicken up here tho so that's good :) AND they're building a SONIC down the road from my house!
