PSFR??

What happens when the pressure is rapidly falling? As far as I remember the pressure is rising when T-strom is approaching. How about pressure falling? Thanks.

The pressure falls rapidly when a thunderstorm is approaching, and then rises rapidly once the gust front/downdrafts/rain starts. After it passes, the pressure falls back to normal (which is probably fairly low in the first place).

So if I saw PSFR in a METAR, and the other conditions were right for it, I would predict that the reporting station might experience a thunderstorm in the not-too-distant future.
