PSA Recall 10

That is awesome! It is good to see some good stuff amid the last few months of dreary furlough announcements.

Unless youre gone for more than a year you dont have to do the full systems/etc class. You'll do requal B which is an abbreviated course.

No, but some other guys at the top of the Jan 7 class did for April 20th.

Guess they are still working on the first round of recalls.

Lets get the story straight here. PSA is upgrading 6 CA's. No new calls were made today about ANOTHER class. 5 days have gone by, three bypassed, thus the additional three were called to make the April 20th class a full 10. Simply all.

No she really is. I wouldn't joke about a recall.

Somebody thought it would be hilarious to start an April Fool's day thing about furloughs over at Pinnacle. If they had said that to me, they might actually be in the hospital right now when I found out it was a joke......

Actually, he was right. There was a guy in the January 7th class who got the call yesterday morning for a spot in the April 20th class.

That's corrrect. I would say one thing. I spent a day in Dayton yesterday getting caught back up. Although great news about recalls it does not sounds like we are bringing a bunch back. The number they are bringing back will be a number they can deal with having on property thisi fall when flying decreases again. Now things can change tomorrow. However I spoke with many yesterday and they all indicated to me, they are not going to bring a bunch back due to summer flying. Those whom they bring back they want for good. Thus they are trying to be smart about the number we bring in.

This to me is great, unlike last winter when we hired for what ended up being no reason. We got in the game too late and it cost a lot of people money and ended up putting many on the street. All I can really say is lets wait and see what happens. Unless something changes majorly, they are most likely just bringing back a few that they shouldnt have let go in the first place. It also sounded like from talking to scheduling and pilots around, they have been utilizing the pilots all winter. Not that they are flying 75 hours a month, but they are being utilized with HOT and other assignments. Who knows we will see. But I dont want to spread a rumor we are bring 79 guys back this summer, because that's not the indication I've gotten.

From what I heard from a friend in the pool they made it 12 numbers down for the first class back. I haven't heard any "official" word on recalls, I heard speculation but we're usually the last to know.

Just out of curiosity, why doesn't ASA have their 200 pilots fly the 700 as well..and vice versa??

Our contract defines that it has to be separate. I've heard it the company would rather have us fly both but we negotiated to have them separate so nobody got screwed during recurrent training. A atl based SKW pilot jsing on one of my flights said they do their PCs on the 200 when they only fly the 900 in atl. I think its that's type of scenario they are trying to avoid.

As far as 200/700 differences, they're completely different airplanes. The cockpit layout and flows are pretty similiar, but flying wise the planes are completely different. The 700 and 900 are the same exact plane, except one's alittle longer. Landing is exactly the same.

It isn't hard to fly the 200, and 700 in the same day. It's no big deal dude...........

SAME Plane.... Guess those at PSA might just be more skilled then the ASA guys ;)! I'd be willing to bet if we got the 900, we'd be able to go between all three planes. And we would not have any issues with it at all.
