PSA Recall 10

Wow, congrats guys, that's great news. I know some of the furloughed guys there gave up their seniority to go to Mesaba so that should help a bit. Now if only TSA would stop furloughing and start recalling.

Excellent news. Congrats!

I also hope this isn't in relation to guys/gals pounding the street at the other end of the US Airways network.

But, what can you do?

What's your guys' training process after a 7 month furlough? Full intial again or a couple times in the sim + PC?

How about hitting up the furlough tracking thread with the details :)

Keep in mind Josh PSA runs very thin. Compared to other airlines etc. I know PDT is furloughing some due to a loss of airplanes, but I really do not think we at PSA are going to gain anything from our brothers there being let go. But that's out of our control. I hope all those guys and gals get back as quick as our pilots do. :) In the end its a good sign in general. Never thought I'd be excited about going to sit reserve but I cannot wait! :D

Of course man, of course.

I don't see how 10 returning can be remotely viewed in any relation to those at PDT hitting the street. Was just echoing your earlier sentiment.

I'd gladly sit 3 years on short call reserve if that meant having a MMG paycheck again. That being said, in 11 months and some change with ASA, I substantially broke MMG twice thanks to our work-rules and reserve system.

But - what about your guy's training program?

Congratulations! It's funny but after reading this thread it suddenly occurred to me...

Out of ALL the times i've been furloughed, i've never once accepted RECALL from a furlough and gone back!

So I can honestly say I have no idea what this is going to be like for you. But it sounds exciting! Good luck!

AWAC started upgrading as well, either we're in the same position or we're getting more flying. Apparently our block hours did increase however they said they plan on dropping again in the fall.

I have no clue. Maybe Airdale can help me out as to what they had to do at RAH. I would assume it'd be close to that. Dave any help?
xjet told us that depending on how long you're out it's as short as a PC or as long as the full new-hire training. No recalls in sight though :)

Congrats on the recall Meyers, I bet you cant wait to get back! Im going on 9 months with no recall in sight, hopefully some more regionals start bringing guys back.

Personally I'd like to see PSA guys getting recalled to cover the flying that PDTs shrinkage has left open rather than give it to a contract carrier anyway.

The 4 airframes PDT lost was about 7% of our fleet, and we got another 7 lined up to go to the desert in Fall.

Maybe it's the first sign of the long awaited economic recovery.

Good for you. :rawk:

I'm still trying to ignore the fact I'm on the short list right now...

As soon as you hear, and if there is a caveat from those who got <100 hrs, spread the word, plz. Surprised the heck outta me.
