Well, I was going to post something about John De Lancie (Q from Star Trek: TNG) as a My Little Pony character, but I found the following and am now at a WTF point.

So, you spend time trying to convince the unbelievers that Sci-Fi / Fantasy / Pop culture con thing X is legit/ fun/ respectable, Cons are fun, etc. and then somebody goes and makes that? WTF

Now I need to bleach my brain to forget that before I can get back to convincing folks that we Con types are not freaks.

There's actually be a huge shift in public perception of the genre.

15 years ago, would anyone have believed that a 2nd tier* property like Iron Man would be a smash hit that was? Or a 4th tier property like Guardians of the Galaxy, fer crying out loud?

Or that Marvel would go out and DO what everyone said "NO WAY CAN THEY DO THAT" when they said they were going to try multiple movies leading up to The Avengers.... and made an A$$load of money in the process.

Or that regular people on the street would be wearing "Green Lantern" shirts?

Or AWESOME genre shows would be on broadcast TV like Arrow and The Flash....and on the CW for crying out loud...

Or that every one of my cherished childhood memories would be utterly, and completely ruined by Robot Chicken....oh, wait.

Not that I heard of. However, I just got an email today that the schedule for differences sim training for June is just now being worked out. Today is 29 May. So it would seem they are scrambling to sort all the changes out and figure out the plan still.
