PSA first year pay

That's going to depend on how much you fly, how long you're on reserve, etc. Many factors contribute.

Have you found a single person that took a pay cut? I mean someone who actually got their pay reduced in number from what it was the previous year?

That's a straw man argument.

If you give away compensation as a company that you once had, it's a pay cut.

It seems more like they sold they're fellow pilots hired after them down the river?

Pilots don't vote pay cuts for themselves, just everyone else.

To be 100% honest, the majority vote came from people who, as you're saying, shot themselves in the foot. People who weren't at year 12 or 4. So no, it wasn't a sell down river kind of thing. The people who will hit 12 or 4 are the people who said yes.

The existence of regionals already represents the b scale of the industry, now were creating a c scale.

Nice work guys, keep it up.

A freeze, a lock, is not the same as a pay cut. I'm not saying it's right, I'm saying it's misinformed.

It is a pay cut. It doesn't take long for inflation to take its toll on the people that do get stuck. Also don't forget pay rates are not the entire package.

The only reason it made sense to the pilots is the fact that they get guaranteed interviews that will come relatively quick and the massive increase in aircraft will allow for tons of quick upgrades (assuming classes can be filled). Basically it was a bunch of selfish pilots looking to get ahead and helping to screw the rest of the industry over.

All the PSA pilots did was double the leverage management has at the other airlines.

My guess...$20k after taxes? If that

9 years ago (holy crap... I'm old) I made $21,000 (not counting per diem, after taxes) my first year, never breaking guarantee. Since then, first year pay has come up a bit and the guarantee as moved up 3 hours a month. Also, things like credit for airport reserve will increase the likelihood of going over guarantee in busy months.

So if one never makes it to 12 year CA how did they make less money? Pay raises guaranteed over the duration of the contract and insurance stops increasing at 2016? Not saying it was great but many at now are at AA because of PSAs TA which provides upward movement. I can tell you they're making more money and having more placed into 401k accounts and seem pleased.

Are regionals changing and maybe becoming stepping stones they were intended to be? It seems that way and if indeed the case I can feel comfortable saying not one pilot who could go to AA and does will take a paycut.

Because your paying someone xxx dollars to fly the same airplane and paying someone else yyy to do the same job for absolutely no reason.

I could care less about AA, Im talking about PSA. Two years from now you could fall out favor at AA or AA might merge with Delta and you flowthrough isn't worth the paper its written on.

Your union should've told PSAs management to pound sand or at least given a counter offer. If the union leadership has to advertise and "talk up" a TA, that's not good.

A good contract speaks for itself.

Tough talk. Who do you work for?

who exactly is being paid xxx dollars and who is being paid yyy dollars to do the same job? Can you let me know where they are on the seniorty list at PSA so I can ask why they voted this in?

Do you realize the absurdness to that statement? You are saying that a pilot should be getting paid whatever all the other pilots are getting paid.

I understand what you're getting at, but it is baseless, and your airline you work for has no one to blame for whatever crap deal you are getting except your own management. Read the interwebs, no one can staff anything, so who cares if they threaten to shut you down, are they? no, because there arent enough pilots and airlines to staff the amount of flying for regionals there are.
