according to my Multi Engine book i just got.

"the propellers on twins certificated overseas usually rotate counterclockwise as seen from the pilot seat, so the situation is reversed - for those airplanes, the right engine is the critcal engine"

my question is why do they do this?

The same reason that the British drive on the left side of the road.

Just because.

There isn't any advantage to wither direction, but that's just how things got standardized.

I don't personaly know of ANY light twins made with twin left turning engines.

Pretty much!

And why are all of our power cords different?

Heh. If you can play an A or E power chord, you can play GnR.

Hell yeah! He's got a song on "Smooth Jazz" here (err, 'there') in PHX in heavy rotation that just rocks.

i'll have to try and find it on JazzFm.com Its a Kick A$$ internet jazz station out of London, England.

Do foreign twins ever use counter-rotating twins where the right prop spins clockwise, and the left prop spins counterclockwise? That would be weird because the declining blade would be further away from the CG.
