Position Description


As a pilot in the Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization, tasks can include: Plans and conducts production and acceptance test flights on single or multiple aircraft. Leads the production acceptance process to validate configuration and contractual compliance. Reviews flight deficiencies and coordinates resolution. Plans, coordinates and conducts delivery, ferry, support and functional test flights on production and non-production aircraft. Creates procedures and processes for customer''s functional and acceptance documentation. Ensures design integrity and recommends changes based on operational considerations. Serves as Pilot-In-Command. Job requires FAA ATP or commercial certificate with the appropriate endorsements.

Extensive, specialized knowledge and ability to use standard crew resource management, weight and balance calculations, navigation procedures, airspace, meteorology, aircraft performance data, communication operations, flight planning, industry regulations and pilot aviation skills to perform aircraft operations.

Extensive, specialized knowledge of federal and International compliance regulations such as Federal Aviation Administration [FAA], Joint Aviation Authorities [JAA], International Civil Aviation Organization [ICAO], International Traffic In Arms Regulations [ITAR] flight operations and procedures.

Extensive and specialized knowledge company and industry safety initiatives and strategies to reduce the world aircraft accident rate. Knowledge of operational flight safety, including industry-wide current safety topics (e.g., approach and landing, upset, Controlled Flight into Terrain [CFIT]).



Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Do you have a FAA Commercial Pilot License or ATP with rotorcraft-helicopter; instrument helicopter BV-234 endorsements?

Are you willing to perform flight duties during extended international travel?

Are you qualified as a pilot in command for production acceptance pilot or maintenance test pilot duties for CH-47F, Mark 6 and MHLH aircraft?



Typical Education/Experience


Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.




Other Job related information


Preferable to be an instructor pilot in CH-47 F, Mark 6 and MHLH Chinook aircraft.
Required: Ability to travel and work non-standard work schedules as needed.
