Last night after we got home from our flight out west my son asked me if when the plane got bumpy(very light chop) if the driver(pilot) turned on the autopilot so that it would make the plane fly better. He also asked that if the driver (pilot) gets tired does he turn it on also. I said yes. He asked me also which one flew better the driver(pilot) or the autopilot. I told him that was debatable on who you asked...Mind you he is 6 1/2 and has been on planes before but I guess this was the first time he ever really paid attention to what was going on. Just though I would share that with the airline drivers(pilots)
 
Just wait 'til they get older. My kids love to tell their friends, in earshot of me, that the autopilot does all the work and a monkey could fly an airliner.

It gets worse. Wednesday we went whitewater rafting. I was "captain" and they were crew. About half way down the river I had a crew revolt. Tried CRM but the 16 year old was barking out the paddling orders which the crew was following! They claimed my relexes were too slow. Things got so bad I had to send in a NASA report. If we had a union I'd report them to professional standards (before they reoported me). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bandit.gif
 
Well I guess since you are retired now they arent going to let you be the Capt of anything. We know the moms/wifes run the show when you are out of town so now that you are home more that are going to be open to change. Maybe you should have rethought the retiring...haha
 
Well, it's no problem. My guys are scouring the help-wanted ads. Also asking me constantly about the other flying job I promised them I had. My CRM senses are tingling here. I think I may need to get out of the house more. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
 
Dave if you get really bored you can come over and finish some of the landscaping I have to finish..
