I've gotta know, if you're so inclined.

If you could summarize - what do you feel that you constructively contribute to this forum?

Do you feel that your perspectives and posts, in some way - at some times, help to further discuss our profession amongst one another and provide a resource for industry trends?

To network information on employer culture? To possibly assist others who are wishing to discover the nature of our work?

If nothing else, please. Why are you here?

Read my post earlier in this thread- positive contribution. Regardless of what I post it will be received negatively by you.

The original argument is just plain dumb. The argument entails since 2 vhf is required, one for normal communication with tower and the other for monitoring the ntz controller you therefore cannot readily satisfy the communication requirments with the company. Of course you can! Its simple, you have an issue either go around or don't accept the approach, its like saying well I'm talking to atc and on the other radio I'm talking to medlink via arinc therefore I'm breaking the reg. This is a classic case of overthinking.

You are now reaping what you've previously sewn.

You've brought it upon yourself from a lot of your previous nonsense.
No when I joined you all treated me very unfairly when I asked questions. You expect me to treat you with respect with the responses I get it?! Completely unfair.

Well, initially they answered your questions. When you didn't like their answers, you asked again, ignoring what people tried to help you understand. I think they got fed up. Reread your posts and you'll see.

Interesting thread indeed.

Does anyone actually know why 2 VHFs are required during SOIA? :)

2 are required because they are using 2 controllers to monitor the approach.

One is actually controlling the traffic the other one is monitoring the "no transgression zone", if either flight enters that zone it is the 2nd controllers responsibility to tell one or both of the flights to execute a missed and which direction to turn.

Each controller is on a specific frequency, that the flight has to monitor

The crews will then acknowledge by confirming with the primary controller.

The crews will then acknowledge by confirming with the primary controller

Actually, the PRM controller is the one to give the breakout instructions to the crew, unless the aircraft is inside the TCP, then the tower issues go-around instructions and coordinates with the PRM Monitor for that runway as to where the Monitor wants the aircraft and verbally/non-verbally(via LOA) transfers control back to the Monitor.

(Transfer of Control Point is decided by the tower, and relayed to the PRM controller when the PRM controller initially sits down once PRM's are deemed necessary, based on where the tower can see the aircraft). It's either at the marker (usually 5 nm from touchdown) or any point closer to the runway up to the MAP.

The PRM Monitor has jurisdiction of the breakout from when the aircraft checks onto the tower frequency after being switched by the Final controller (must be on towers freq prior to losing vertical separation with the aircraft (s) on adjacent approaches ) up until where the tower has advised the PRM Monitor of where the TCP is.
