PRIA checks during shutdown

So can new hires not be assigned duty positions until the shutdown is over or is there a way to get the PRIA checks done during shutdown?

While at HQ the other day, I asked our CP that question . It is uncharted territory and he said he is not sure what will happen as far as getting them back. He said if they cannot verify the newhires certificates then they can do everything but show up to IOE and they are trucking along and said they will cross that bridge when they get there.

The guys without pria paperwork are early enough on that they aren't in any danger if that for a few weeks. That is not taking into account for backlog once the govt starts up again.
