Pregnancy

Pilot and A Half (for now
Are there any medical issues while flying single pilot, private operations while pregnant?

I had a student who was just beginning her 3rd trimester and once when doing steep turns she just passed out and didn't come back for about 5 minutes. The sitting position with the seat belt over your stomach can cause circulation problems. She also used to get sick and throwing up several times (she held it until on the ground each time thankfully). With that said, I wouldn't recommend flying solo.

Ok, thanks! I'll take another pilot along until the delivery.

Just to clarify, I am not a flight surgeon nor hold any medical capacity. I am just a pilot who was sharing one of my personal experiences.

I wouldn't recommend it based on the P-factor (not the lateral thrust difference on props...but the tendency to need to urinate every 15-20 minutes whilst pregnant).

CONGRATS!!! We have a captain who is flying for us right now and is well into her second tri. I am going to shut up now and let the doc do his thing
