preferred speed down final

The BE99 and 120 can be flown agressive, but we don't go below 25%(flight idle is usually set around 10%) in the Metro unless absolutely necessary. Thing takes 9 miles to slow from 246 to 215 and 180 in level flight. First flap setting then second flap setting and gear respectively. 3 miles at flight idle in level flight to accomplish the same thing if you're OK with the negative torque sensing shenanigans, I'm not normally, in IMC in particular.

In a decent of 500 feet per minute or more, it won't slow below 230 at 25%. Flight idle will give you about 200 at 6-700 feet per minute descent. Not all turbo-trash is the same... If the pilot thinks ahead and listens to what's going on around them, they can work around all of this though.

Not many flying around in the states though, so this is moot. :)

No idea what jets are like.

If flight idle is set around 10% how do you get NTSing?

There's actually only one plane that seems to do it lately, and it's idle torque does go below 10. I'm not convinced that gauge is completely accurate anyways though... They show 5% during shut down. Haha

Unless the thing reads negative torque and shows it as a positive value. No idea
