I watched a buddy do it to his DC's. I wouldn't suggest it. It looked like a PITA, and over the course of a month one of the ears stopped working. Maybe if you are really good with the soldering iron...




I would suggest the 500 over the 600C. The 600C eats batteries like mad and really doesn't have any other significant features (not that terrain isn't important, but you should know where that is from other sources). The 500 does plenty, don't waste your money.

I recently picked up the uflymike/Bose QC2 setup and love it. The ANR is as good as the X, the mike is high quality, and the mp3 player plugs right in. Everything fits in the small case that comes with the QC2 and it is lighter then any other headset out there. Super comfortable. $500. 30 day money back trial on both.
 
Thank you all for the input on the headsets. I decided to go with the lightspeed 20-3g. It fits my mission profile, and budget. I have not yet pulled the trigger on the GPS. I need to investigate a little more. Anymore thougts on them, please keep them coming.
