Prarie Air Service KS?

If memory serves, all I know is that they offer service at a very very low cost. But you probably know all that since you are asking about it.
 
Ive been looking into this place, too. The prices are old, and Herb is tough to get in touch with. I THINK the prices are about 5-7k higher than whats advertised on the website, but would still be much cheaper than other academies (i.e. approx 25K for Inst to CMEL w/40 hrs of multi - and dont quote me on that.) The last thing I want to do is pay 55K for Inst. to MEI just because an academy is buying VLJ's. Ill try and get a hold of Herb and will report back when I ve found out more about this place.
 
just remember unless you happen to live there you are going to be paying alot in housing costs, and Im pretty sure you will have to pay Testing fee's and the APE fees. Most of the major flight schools, Including the one I work for in Kansas, include all this into their cost. So you pay tuition and nothing else. ( well expect for your food of course) And at most flight school the maintenance the quality of MX is a factor too. just remember what it is you are paying for... because you get what you pay for.


And btw.. my flight school, we have no intentions of buying a VLJ.. not to mention, getting more aircraft for our school shouldnt have anything to do with our price.

Dear Bradley:

Thank you for your phone call and e-mail. Attached is information about our commercial pilot completion training programs. The attached info is for a pilot with 120 hours of total flight experience, so you'd need a little less time.

Presently our fuel surcharge is 94 cents per gallon, which adds $ 15.00 per hour to the cost of the Apache and $ 6.00 per hour to the Cessna 150.

Please contact me if you need additional information. I'm usually a little slow answering phone calls and e-mails.

so it looks like about 150 hours multi x $15.00/hour = $2250 fuel surcharge
30 hours of C 150 @ 6.00/hour = $180 fuel surcharge

added onto the $18000 for the Single and Multi Engine Instrument and Commercial Pilot Completion Course #3 $ 18,000.00 = $20500 or so. plus 6000k for the CFI ratings 29 hours at about $10.00/hour = $290 so $6300

$20500 multi instrument commerical
6300 CFI's
4200 housing 700 @ six months
1200 check ride fees
$32200 TOTAL

If anyone can think of anything else let me know or if anything seems wrong. This is for staying with the Pellos and includes meals. I also rounded up a little for safety.
