PPL in a Tailwheel?

Wow, this is fun....

Thanks everyone for the wide ranging opinions. It's pretty speculative at this point, but with my position in Alaska I may be able to start working on ratings out in the bush somewhere. I've yet to pin down all the details, but the company has everything from 3 Navajos to a couple of super cubs that they use for the fun stuff back in the woods. Most likely I'd be starting in a stinson. My training would probaby be in a taildragger from a 4,000' dirt strip in the middle of a national park somewheres.

I'll keep you all posted, as I'm still in the process of learnign all the details....

That's great tallflyer! I'd love to be able to hook up with a job up in AK down the road.

Do you know where you are going to be working? A 4000' dirt strip sounds pretty long for up there. From reading some books and research I did when I was up there, the dirt strips are usually a lot shorter than that.

Oh by the way, if you don't mind me asking, what company are you going to be working for?

Remember that a "conventional" a/c by definition is a TAILWHEEL not a Tricycle.....In the days of the Champ, Cub, luscombe, cessna 120 and140's (you get the idea) thats all we/they had....I have over 3000 of T/W time and it is by far my most enjoyable.....Go for the T/W and have fun...ps
Keep the Tail behind you.......lol
