Because if there are no jobs in state one you might have a chance of a job in state two. If you're not willing to leave your state, just put one. But also be prepared to not get a job.

Do you guys know how much they weigh the second state? Say for example your first state is full, will they really consider your second if people are needed there or pick someone who had my second state as their first? Im from pubnat 8 so I still have a ways to go but Im just trying to prepare myself.
Im thinking of putting NY and AK or AK and NY but not sure what order to put them. I live in NY and would love to stay here but want to get in no matter what and I WILL move to AK if thats what it takes. AK seems like a pretty neat place anyhow and yes I like the cold (most of the time).

I think it all depends on where they need people, I had NY and OH, I wound up getting ZOB in OH.

I geographically preferred GA and FL. Also, I too put both "Terminal and En Route." I don't want to get that far in the process and be stingy with either/or, and not get selected.
I've been waiting a while, and I don't want to jeopardize any progress I've made by getting selfish while SIDs and approach vectors dance in my head and select terminal only. I have nothing against en route, but for some reason terminal has always appealed to me.
