Portland Relocation

And the bicyclists think they're both cars and peds at the same time. Picking and choosing which rules to follow. People walk out in front of cars, just expecting them to stop.

The problem with living in the Vancouver... is you're in the couve. I guess that works if you like bedroom communities and are boring as hell... or like to drink and drive.

Haha that video is pretty accurate, especially about the i5 bridge lol. Vantucky is an interesting town that's for sure. Although it always angered me when people in my own state or even Portland would think I'm from Canada when I say I'm from Vancouver....

I'm not from Portland, but flew into the area 3 trips this past week. Jobs available at Hillsboro Aviation and Aero Air out at KHIO; Check in with SeaPort Airlines; they fly out of PDX and may be taking resume's. Portland Approach folks are great to work with. Welcome to the Northwest.

Portland is the city where young people go to retire. Since the SNL cast members started traveling to Portland to do a show on this subject, you can explain this whole thing on video. Isn't that terrific?

Explaining Portland

Haha! When I was first inquiring about pdx to friends, this was the first video I was shown

I'm relocating to Portland here in the next month and was looking for some insight from my fellow JCers who currently or have resided here.......Night life? Are all these stories about hippies that I'm hearing of true?

Just for the record, since you are the OP with the question.......you understand I hope that we're just having some fun with this. I would say that everything you saw and heard here has a grain of truth in it. There really are very narrow, very old classic bridges scattered in and around the Portland area. There really are hippies, clown people and Volvo driving rabid environmentalists there. There probably are in most cities if you look for them. But the City can't be summed up with any stereotype.

In spite of the libelous slurs that ///AMG has uttered here, the lawsuit that Portland is filing against him for slander, and the hit Portland businesses put out on him, he still says it's a great place. I agree. Portland and the Pacific Northwest in general.... Ocean, deserts, rain forests, snow skiing, surfing.... all within a few hours or a day's drive makes its geography unique. And with a variety of interesting people, cultures and activities. Seattle 4 hours away. Hard to beat for variety, although I did see my first bearded lady there in the Hawthorne District (I had thought that was just a myth).

I'll get you her phone number atracnitrix.
