QOL takes a bit of a hit with the uncommutable trips out of CVG (I have a 0350L show Wednesday morning, so I'm giving up all of tomorrow to commute in), but for me, it works due to the SAN layovers. I'm averaging 18-19 days at home during the months I bid SAN... Now I just hope we don't lose it again!

Looks like the latest vacancy award shows 105 CAs and 149 FOs in CVG on the 767 for 15 airplanes (increasing to 17 shortly)... I sure wish they'd bring it up to 150 CAs; that'd potentially be my upgrade. :D

Ahh, that makes more sense. I think they are running a few 767 newhire classes now. I think I will try commuting out of AUS for a year or so and seeing how it goes. There is daily DHL AUS-CVG, currently ABX I think. IDK if that's a good option to save on imputed income. I'll probably just get used to going through CLT twice every trip to get there, lol.

Knock on wood, in 3 years I've only ever been imputed for 2 nights in a hotel room. Riding ABX into the sort is good if it's a nonstop... My issue riding the freighter to CVG out of SAN is the stop in PHX; if it breaks, I'm hosed!

Good point, I think the AUS-CVG does stop in IAH some nights.

Last I checked they have about 140 captains and 110 F/O's on the airplane which is a bit heavy on the captain side (12 767's in the fleet), especially when you consider 3 man crews; granted you do need more captains due to the extra vacation of the more senior pilots. That compares with about 400 captains and 500 F/O's on the 747 fleet (about 40 airplanes).

They have regular line captains sit in the right seat?

AFAIK yeah. Same thing happened at SureJet. As a Jr. Captain I was riding right seat about 10-15% of the time. Pay is the same so I never got too worked up about it. Definitely not ideal but it's pretty far down on the list of things that need fixin'.

They've been short FOs on this fleet for quite a while... I walk into the sort some days and I feel like I'm the only 767 FO on property. :P
