Plane down at KARR

"Two men were killed tonight when a small plane crashed in a subdivision near Waubonsee Community College in the far west suburb of Sugar Grove.

The two fatalities -- both men -- were in the plane, said Kane County Sheriff's spokesman Pat Gengler..

Gengler said at about 7 p.m. residents saw a ball of fire and the sheriff's office received a 911 call. Gengler said they believe the plane struck the ground and the debris of the plane hit a home at Route 47 and Old Oaks Road, "

RIP

I'm out here now and the ceilings have been pretty low this evening. No idea if that had anything to do with it.

Wow, was going to go to ARR today to drop off out DME but didn't because our closest alternate was PIA some 50 nm away. So far the weather has sucked and I pushed it back to tomorrow MAYBE if the temps are OK. Very sad to see something like this happen so close to home.

I think this may be it.

Very glad to hear it wasn't you, bud. Whenever anything happens around this area, you're one of the first people I try to make sure it didn't happen to.

Cheers!

I've done a lot of flying in and out of this airport in the past myself. It's sad to see something like this happen close to home. :(
