Hey-

I am all for blaming the media. They are out of control.

However, pilots need to stick together. It's sad to see pilots bantering over such a topic as this. Yes, we can learn from it, as we should, but for us to judge and throw around trivial remarks when people have lost their lives is very unprofessional.

Why they insisted on Freeway I don't know, it had been said they did at least 1 missed if not 2 missed approaches and were advised to try the ILS at BWI, I guess they really wanted to pick up the pax at W00 instead of having him drive to BWI. But it all really doesn't matter now, I guess we can just sit back and think about it to learn some lessons from this.

Let this be an example to all of us. There isn't an ILS at BWI--there are several ILSs. W00 is a short, VERY thin strip, and not the place to land in poor vis, and wet snow. Like I said above, I like the atmosphere there--very friendly, bit it certainly isn't an all-weather airport (if there is any such animal). That's why I fly out of BWI and FDK.
