If and when you check pitot heat, be careful ! Grabbed the pitot static mast/vane like a porn star yesterday after it had been on awhile.....not fun....probably could have boiled water with it

I was trying to suck moisture out of the drain hole !
Only piper heats their pitots. No other manufacturer does.
All other airplanes fly so fast, there is no need.Only piper heats their pitots. No other manufacturer does.
A Navajo or Saratoga is still faster on average than a twin Cessna or a 210 because the Cessnas spend so much time up on jacks. All other airplanes fly so fast, there is no need.
Those gear swings are some of the most scary things I did as a mechanic.A Navajo or Saratoga is still faster on average than a twin Cessna or a 210 because the Cessnas spend so much time up on jacks.
This is literally the first time I've ever visualized a Cessna getting jacked and cycled. Who gets to climb the ladder and sit in the cockpit 7 feet off the ground would be my first concern. Those gear swings are some of the most scary things I did as a mechanic.
The real scary part is when you throw the handle and the plane starts torquing around on the jacks, that and making sure you jacked it up high enough that the wheels would clear the ground. This is literally the first time I've ever visualized a Cessna getting jacked and cycled. Be careful you don't suck the chrome off it.I was trying to suck moisture out of the drain hole!
Who sucks the pitot while the Cessna gets jacked??This is literally the first time I've ever visualized a Cessna getting jacked and cycled.
Nobody, you blow it.Be careful you don't suck the chrome off it.

Well excuse me ! When is a thorough preflight funny ?? I was trying to suck moisture out of the drain hole !

We generally would unlock the gear and then swing them through by hand to make sure they would clear first.
Come on, yall.. we gotta get on the same page here. How are we jacking and draining? By hand or mouth?
