Pipeline Patrol, TX,LA,MO, 500TT mins

A 208 flying pipeline patrol, what on earth for?

Maybee if they had some speciallized scaning equipment, but that's a LOT of airplane for some electonic gear. L3 comunications out of Greenville TX has one they use as a test bed, but even that can be overkill.
I believe Trans Canada uses 208s to survey their pipeline along with Bell 206s. Met a helicopter crew once and they didn't seem like they planned on leaving it anytime soon. Can't say I know what type of survey equipment they use though

Kern Charters is the sister comapny of KCSI aerial patrol. HQ is in Bakersfield CA but pipeline bases are all around the country, their other major base is in a little town about 40 miles outside Midland, TX. Whole fleet is Citabrias except for one Partenavia that does some over water stuff off the CA coast. Good company, good maintenance, good management. Mins are 1500 TT for PIC though which are pretty high but they hire observers that ride in the back and can log some of the time. It's the only pipeline company that flies tailwheels which is big bonus for some.. TW+"low level" is a good combination depending on where you want to go long term.

Another one to try is Brentco aerial patrol based somewhere out in west TX... airport home base is called Skywest I think (7 T 7). They fly 182s.

American Patrols is another west TX place, all 172s and only 500TT mins and supposedly they provide housing. Anyway they are all looking for pilots right now. Oh, and Barr air patrol is another one. Barr is all over the country but I always see their adds pop up looking for pilots in TX.

For PIC starting pay is 40-46k for all these places.

If anyone is truly interested we may be in need of someone in the Houston area. PM me for my email. 500TT may be pushing the minimum but anyone closer to 750 is preferable.

I only have about 260 hours but do you know of anyone needing observers in Texas or the Houston area?

Hey Pucker, I've been looking for a few months now for a pipeline gig in the Houston area! I'm new to this forum so I wasnt sure how to PM you, but i've got 505TT right now and i'll have about 560TT by the end of the month. Would you mind if we exchanged info and I can see if I might meet yall's minimums?

thanks!

I'm one of the mechanic's at KCSI's base at Andrews, Texas. They always have an eye out for pilots and observers. Pilots need 1500 TT with 100 tailwheel. Observers just need to be slim (we fly close to max weight), but there is a bonus if you have your license since you can take over some of the pilot's workload when deadheading. The planes are all 7GCAA or 7GCBC 1999 or newer with a few 172s at some of the remote bases. Alan is the regional chief pilot for Texas, Josh is the company chief pilot. We are a small enough company that all our email addresses are just our first names. www.kcsiaerialpatrol.com is the company homepage.

If you want to reply to an actual help wanted ad, they post those on Climb to 350.

Thanks man I plan on beating the bushes and trying hard to get on with Yall. I hear the pilots can build some serious time quickly.
